Open wheel solo racing for the Public!

The Formula 440 driving experience is for anyone who ever wondered what it would be like to sit behind the wheel of an actual race car… and drive it. With the cars going up to 90 km/hour you’re going to need their 4-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes to get around the 16 turns as quickly as possible. Your 8 laps in the F440 car will be timed and shown on the clock after each lap, so you can see just how fast you are. You will also be given a computer printout of you times when you are done. The formula 440 cars are ideal for small groups because they allow for more personalized training with one-on-one track instruction on the finer points of racing fomula F440 cars to their maximum potential. All drivers start the day with a training session and then head to the track for 8 laps on the challenging 1km road course. Drivers race in sets of up to 3, with each set lasting about 15 minutes. 

The Formula 440 cars at F440 were built by KBS Engineering in Los Angeles, California. KBS has been building race cars for over 20 years and manufactures almost 100 percent of the car in house. S.C.C.A. Formula 440 ( now called Formula 500 ) is the entry level class of open wheel racing in North America. Designed to be economical to purchase, race, and maintain the F440's are powered by a snowmobile 440-500 cc, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke motor. These motors, properly tuned, can achieve up to 100 HP, and propel an F440 car to speeds in excess of 130 MPH.

The Formula 440 cars at F440 are the exact same cars used at race tracks throughout North America. Minor modifications include the use of detuned 440 motors, modified gearing, high performance radials, and a single exhaust system. These modifications allow the F440 cars to achieve a top speed of 90 KPH on our track, a 17 turn 6/10 mile road course. Some of the high performance features of the 440 cars are; 4 wheel, 3 axis, independent suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, full roll cage protection, 4 point simpson racing harness, ground effects body work and an engine/transmission package that costs over $4000.00.

All of the Formula racing at the F440 Track is done in solo format. There may be as many as 3 cars on the track at any one time with a safe margin of spacing. Scoring is kept with a custom Lap Timing system which incorporates AMB Transponders, custom software, and a digital display board. Lap time results are displayed in real time and a hard copy is printed, along with stats, to take home. The 440 cars have a replacement cost of over $20,000.00, in order to make sure you won't be making an unexpected purchase, F440 has a brief driver training and orientation program which lasts about 10 - 15 minutes. After that it's time to race!
